Technology
We engineer solutions taylored for particular materials based on the power of evolution. Our preferred organisms to have this done are fungi.
Filamentous fungi are naturally optimal pathfinders. Besides, proteins and cell wall components are structure builders that act synergistically to accomplish high performance materials. In this way, reach and strenght required to develop the most efficients materials is achieved.
What do we cover?
R&D
Our Research and Development division has developed a myco-based material able to act as a binder for several mineral matrices. In this way, we are opening a new chapter in bio-based materials for construction. Our R&D strategy involves further exploiting the evolution-perfectioned materials for human-directed applications and using synthetic biology to harness the best from binding and linking available and directed evolving new composite materials. The foundation of BioCreate, R&D is deeply ingrained in our DNA, originating from our predecessor, Eternal, who made myco-based food for terrestrial and aerospatial applications, terrains we are also covering with Biocreate.

IP
Business + R&D intensive perspective is supported by a direct Industrial Property asset policy. We aim licencing our technology towards a fast business-building perspective. IP protection is a core interest in our business strategy. Our IP strategy is meticulously designed to protect the innovations at the core of our biocement technology. By securing a series of provisional and PCT patents in the United States and Europe, we safeguard the unique processes and innovations that emerge during the development of our biocement. A thorough review of existing patents ensures our innovations are both original and respectful of existing intellectual property, underpinning our business strategy that includes licensing these patents.
PoC/MVP
Biocrete aim to deliver Proof of Concept and Minimum Viable Prototype stage products. We offer fast implementation of new materials’ production. A myco-based binder able to turn sand and a small amount of biomass into a thoughter than concrete composite is our first product. The use for several mineral matrices is being developed to further broaden the applications for this carbon-efficient approach for infrastructure construction. At BioCrete, we rigorously test our biocement through Proof of Concept and Minimum Viable Product trials, blending it with sand, gravel, and various mineral matrices to assess its performance under real-world conditions. Our testing encompasses a broad spectrum of standard industry evaluations, including compressive strength, environmental durability, water permeability, thermal resistance, and ecotoxicity. Furthermore, leveraging our NASA background, we are pioneering tests with lunar and Martian regolith to develop sustainable habitats for space colonization.

Scale Up & Industry Ready
Industrial and business scalable approach driven by decentralization enable the application of our product worldwide. Focused on transitioning our innovations to large-scale applications, this pillar is about ensuring our knowledge and technologies are tested, scalable, and industry-ready. Drawing on our experience from Eternal, particularly in biofabrication MycoFood, we aim to provide clients with a blueprint for easy, quick project initiation, supported by our strategic partnerships. This approach demonstrates not just the technical viability of our solutions but also equips our clients with the necessary support and resources for successful implementation.
